Class Descriptions:
Level 1: Classes begin with short sitting and pranayama practices. We enliven the body slowly and mindfully. Standing poses are practiced, and thoughtful consideration is given to specific physical issues, such as hips or shoulders, and/or an asana subject area, such as backbends or forward bends. This class is suitable for students with some experience of yoga.

Mixed Levels: This class is suitable for everyone. It is a mixed flow class with quiet times and times of movement with music. We practice mantra, silent sitting, focussed breathing, gentle and strong asana. I will offer options for beginners and advanced students.

Level 2 – Intermediate: Classes are suitable for yoga practitioners with at least a year of yoga practice experience, and some familiarity with inversions. We begin the class with sitting, kriyas and pranayama. A specific topic is explored, such as an area of physical anatomy or one of the 7 essential principles, and how this effects the methodology of asanas. We flow through poses to experience the effect of concentrated practice, and we look closely at specific poses and actions in the body.

Level 3 – Advanced: Classes are for students who have been studying with me for some time and have a regular home practice of Vijnana Yoga. We continue with the fundamental Vijnana Yoga principles, challenging our understandings in more advanced practices of pranayama and asana. The focus is of a more experienced nature, not necessarily a stronger or more flexible body.
